I've been working on a game recently and am at the stage where I'm looking for feedback and features to add. This game is a basic hacking simulator/mmo in real time. You can attack other players and destroy their empire essentially. I'm not too sure where i want to move forward with this project hence why im posting here for feed back and ideas. I'm not asking you to play this game for weeks or even a day, just asking for a quick 15 minute glance see what you get and what you think could be changed or added. HACKNET is a multiplayer hacking simulation game where you build up your rig, infiltrate other players' systems, and climb the leaderboards. It's inspired by classic hacker aesthetics — think green-on-black terminals, IP addresses, and crypto wallets.
What is it?You play as an anonymous hacker on a shared network. Scan for targets, launch attacks, deploy malware, mine crypto, and upgrade your hardware to get faster and more powerful. Every player is on the same server — your actions affect real other players.
How to Play1. Register and log in — pick a handle, you'll be assigned an IP address on the network.
2. Scan the network — go to the NET tab and run a scan to discover other players and NPC bots on the network.
3. Pick a target — click any host to see their defenses, then hit ATTACK or MALWARE.
4. Launch attacks — the ATTACK tab has 7 attack types ranging from a simple Port Scan to a Zero-Day Exploit. Early attacks are unlocked immediately, stronger ones require building up your reputation.
5. Deploy malware — compile and deploy viruses, keyloggers, crypto miners and more. Infect a target to passively drain their resources while you do other things.
6. Upgrade your rig — spend your earnings in the RIG tab on better CPU, GPU, RAM and more. Better hardware means faster attacks, faster compiles, and more crypto mined.
7. Trade crypto — the MARKET tab has live fluctuating prices for BTC, ETH, XMR and HACK coin. Buy low, sell high.
8. Crack credentials — keylogger and rootkit infections capture password hashes you can crack for crypto rewards.

Built with Node.js + Socket.IO. All players share a live server — the leaderboard is real.

Tips for New Players
- Start by attacking the easy NPC bots (10.0.x.x range) to build up cash and reputation
- Deploy a Crypto Miner on any bot you infect for passive HACK coin income
- Upgrade your GPU first if you want to focus on mining, CPU first if you want faster attacks
- Check the INFECTIONS tab to see everything you have running and attack infected targets with a shorter cooldown
