Step-by-Step Tutorial
The things you will need to make this work
- Picture of a serial number
- Fake proof of purchase
- FTID´d UPS label
- About 2-3 weeks of patience
1. Go on any marketplace website and find a readable and clear picture of
a serial number on the box of the GoPro (See image attached)
2. Since the GoPro is sold and shipped by Amazon on the Amazon Website, it´s the perfect candidate for a fake proof of purchase.
Download an old invoice from your amazon history and edit it to look like a real invoice from Amazon (See PDF attached).
Everything that is highlighted in green needs to be changed, may it be the price (with and without VAT),
Item descriptions (ASIN NUMBER CAN BE FOUND IN THE AMAZON LINK), any ID Numbers and Adresses which could be linked back to you!!!
3. When you have your picture of the serial number and fake PoP prepared just log into the GoPro Website and start a live chat.
You will be asked some questions, you mention a sob story in the beginning, that for example you have a VERY important Skiing Trip
in the alps coming up with your girlfriend and you have been planning it for months in advance and in a month the trip starts and that the camera is completely useless
since it wont turn on and you tried everything already! He will most probably ask you if any of the LEDs are visible or blinking, changed the batteries,
but stay sturdy and keep saying no reaction at all and no lights!
Then after confirming the "device is faulty" he will ask you to upload a picture of the serial number and the proof of purchase through a link.
Just upload the pictures as any other real customer would and let him check everything out. Since its mostly outsourced indiands behind the service desk
they wont even take long to verify everything. If everything is done right he will send you the return label to your email and voila, the hardest step is done!
In case they deny a claim of repair for any reason which i have never ever heard, just close the chat and start a new one and retry step 3.
4. FTID the label and send it off. After the FTID´d parcel is delivered, wait for two weeks.
5. After waiting for 2 weeks start annoying them by claiming you have delivered the parcel like they said and you are furious because
the trip is coming up in a couple weeks and you need it very very urgently. They should just give in and claim they made a mistake and send out a new device!
Thats how you get a free GoPro Hero12. Keep in mind, in most cases they send out a replacement device, not retail packaged device since its a repair claim.
The GoPro will only be the device without batteries and accessories, but you can just order them on amazon for cheap!
