💰 What is the PURPOSE of FTIDs? 💰
FTIDs, short for "Fake Tracking IDs" are used to manipulate the tracking information associated with a postage label. By altering the data, the intention is to make it appear as though an item has been delivered, lost, or encountered a similar outcome, even though it has not. This practice is often employed to persuade store personnel to provide refunds for items that have been falsely claimed as either returned or lost during transit.
How do FTIDs work?
FTIDs function by modifying specific details on a postage label, thereby influencing how the carrier processes it. For instance, if we alter the address on the label so that instead of being delivered to an Amazon Returns Warehouse, it appears to be delivered to a nearby store, the tracking information on the website will indicate that the item has been delivered. Consequently, the company may assume that the warehouse team has lost it. Similarly, if we were to change the barcode using invisible ink, we could manipulate the postage label to make it appear lost. In essence, FTIDs involve deceiving the postal carrier into generating scans of delivery, loss, or transit on the tracking website, without alerting the store or carrier to the actual manipulation taking place.
What are the different types of FTIDs?
FTID v1 - Also known as boxing you just send an empty box without changing the label in any way
remove anything that can relate back to you which makes it harder for the company to see who SE'd them
FTID v2 - Remove anything that can relate back to you which makes it harder for the company to see who SE'd them
FTID v3 - This is the most used method, do the same as v2 while also changing where it will end up.
FTID v4 - Stick the label to junk mail so the company thinks it is spam mail
FTID v5 - Changing the barcode and/or QR code to have FTID v3 or FTID v2 properties.
FTID v6 - This technique is employed to deceive the store by making them believe that the package was damaged or stolen prior to its delivery to them.
FTID v7 - LIT (Lost In Transit), can be done by changing the label or through invisible ink.
FTID v8 - Login to an employee postage account and mark something as LIT or damaged yourself.
Tools:
✅ Photoshop or get a legit copy :)
✅ MaxiCode Editor
✅ Barcode Editor
✅ Code 128 Editor
FTID v1:
You don't need to edit a postage label with this method. Just download your return label and attach it to a padded envelope or small box.
FTID v2:
For this method, we are going to want to remove this info.
- Return address details.
- Sent from address details.
- Customer References.
- Shipment References.
FTIDv3:
In this method you are going to want to do the following:
1. Delete all content within FTIDv2.
2. Alter the address by replacing it with that of a nearby business or alternate address.
3. Make slight adjustments to the tracking number, such as removing a digit or modifying a digit in the middle.
FTID v4:
For this method do everything you did in FTID v2 and stick that to junk mail. It does not matter where you get this mail just find some.
FTID v5:
In this method, the objective is to modify the barcode on a label. An easy example of this is altering the tracking number on a USPS barcode, although the same principle can be applied to QR codes, barcodes, and Maxicodes.
The process is simple: enter the tracking number, download the barcode, and use Photoshop to replace the existing barcode with the new one.
FTID v6:
This is very self-explanatory; you are going to want to make the parcel look as damaged and destroyed as possible to make it look like the parcel has been stolen.
FTID v7:
You will print your label as usual but with a special disappearing ink. This ink causes the label to vanish during transit, making it impossible for them to determine the intended destination of the box.
FTID v8:
You have the option to either pay someone who has access to a panel or gain access yourself in order to enlist people to perform specific scans. The most frequently used scans include: Delivered (Marked as Delivered), LIT (Lost in Transit), and RTS (Return to Sender).
