In Spain, a man was arrested after 38 attempts to impersonate other people. His goal was to obtain digital certificates in their names. He used deepfakes, forged documents, altered photos, and even special lighting.

He was caught because of a split-second glitch. The deepfake software “blinked” for a fraction of a moment — the face on the video didn’t match the original. That was enough for the system to flag the deception.
