What is fake (Flash) cryptocurrency?
Fake (Flash) cryptocurrency is tokens that look and price like real cryptocurrencies, but cannot actually be used or sold on exchanges. They show up in wallets as real coins — with the right icon, price and balance.

Does fake cryptocurrency really exist?

50/50. Every wallet is unique. Some wallets do not pull token data directly from blockchains or DEX platforms, which makes it impossible for fake assets to appear on your wallet as real. There are also wallets that do pull that data and allow fake tokens to be created.

Compromised assets: Some tokens used to be real but lost their value because of hacks or network issues. One example is the Fantom network, where old tokens can sometimes be bought cheap. These tokens may show in Tier-1 wallets until the issue is fixed.
Trust Wallet: A copy of the original, network — Solana only. Solana has a DEX where fake liquidity can be added — Trust Wallet will accept it.
SafePal: A copy of the original, network — Solana (image comes from metadata).
MetaMask: A copy of the original: EVM network (no images), Solana (built-in metadata, so there will be an image).
WEB3 Binance, Bybit, OKX: Any tokens can be made, including copies of originals.
Tonkeeper / TONSPACE: Tokens for TON wallets are more or less dead: they were made for about a year, and TonSpace fully removed the display.
CoinBase: Network — Solana (an image can be made).
Exodus: This is more of a script than fake crypto. It is tied to the wallet reading mempool data: you can send a transaction with tiny gas that validators will not pick up, and because of that a balance is displayed.

How to not get scammed yourself?

Just having a TXID does not mean its legit, check against the official smart contract address, fake coins do not mix with real coins, look on the TXID lookup website it is sometimes labelled suspicious/fraudulent.

How to make money with fake cryptocurrency?

You need victims who are either desperate, inexperienced, or operating in informal markets where trust is low but crypto is high.

You will be basically tricking them by paying with fake coins for the goods in the hopes their using a crypto wallet that supports it and they fall for it.

Targets: P2P trading groups, digital goods that have inherit value such as accounts/items, NFT communities, investing groups, subreddits, forums, you can also do the reverse of posting like "i want to buy X", "I need a website made paying $X" so the seller finds you.

Recommended: Do a small real transaction beforehand so the seller believes your legit, wait a day or two and then do the bigger deal with the fake coins.

How to get fake cryptocurrency?

You can create coins yourself but this requires technical knowledge, for most people its cheaper and easier to just buy it from an existing provider e.g. https://flashcryp.to

Not real coins but look identical to the real on certain wallets:
